It may have been a drizzly weekend but the electric and uplifting spirit at AFROPUNK London 2017 wasn't dampened in the slightest. For the uninitiated, AFROPUNK is an annual festival taking place in New York, Paris and London (now in its second year) that celebrates multiculturalism and diversity. It's a safe place to go wild, be free and express yourself, as some of the greatest artists from grime, punk, hip hop, soul, reggae and roots music perform.

This year's stellar lineup included JME, The Internet, Lil Simz, Willow Smith, Danny Brown, Thundercat and DJ Clara Amfo as well as female creative network gal-dem. A triumph of both individuality and community, AFROPUNK is a much-needed event which champions the influence, eclecticism and richness of black culture in a way that is accessible to anyone and everyone.

Ahead, we've rounded up all the best looks from this year's festival at Printworks in south London for some serious inspiration for your summer wardrobe.

Amayah Harrison works a halterneck and trouser twinset under a camouflage jacket.

Tyla Marie Brown goes for understated elegance in denim cut-offs and a striped shirt worn off the shoulders.

Christianah Jones wears silk printed trousers with a denim jacket worn nonchalantly off-the-shoulder and red sunglasses to match the soles of her trainers. Coordination at its finest.

Leopard print should never be subtle. Chyna Jackson teams leopard-print flares with Doc Martens, a black leather jacket and Kay Davis pom pom earrings.

That dress! Hapi Dia wears a pleated maxi metallic dress with beaded accessories.

Fashion student Ayeshah George gives us a masterclass in clashing prints. Not for the fainthearted.

Justine Obiakor wears a blue and yellow dashiki with box-fresh white trainers.

Writer and director Mercy Ufot's navy, red and white look matches perfectly with the Afropunk surroundings. We love the play of proportions with the cropped jacket over wide-leg trousers.

Another great example of playing with proportions. Denai Moore teams an oversized varsity jacket with XL culottes and a crop top.

Nnenna Evans goes for an off-the-shoulder black bandeau with high-waisted trousers emblazoned with the outline of Africa in red, yellow and green. Those Africa cut-out earrings are everything, too.

Brigita Zizyte wears green cord trousers with a black mesh top, blue wig and green beret.

Saturn Renye nails layering in a cut-out dress worn over ripped jeans, finished off with a purple blazer and ankle boots.

Actress Amelia Hoy wears an orange By Malene Birger dress with a Stutterheim coat and red velvet plimsolls.

gal-dem art editor Varaidzo  wears a Kangol bucket hat, with a T-shirt by Ibiye Camp and black leather trousers.

Favour J makes a statement in a paisley print bikini under a patchwork jacket, finished off with black trousers, Doc Martens and the most beautiful beaded braids.

All hail Hibba Kappouri 's incredible, idiosyncratic style.

Photographer Kiesha Harper effortlessly throws together pale yellow, orange and red, finished off with gold flatform sandals.

10/10 for Jocelyn Yeboah-Newton who goes all out in head-to-toe orange, even down to her eyeshadow and shoes.

Kelsea Delatango nails the athleisure trend in a Nike cap, adidas trainers, a black mesh T-shirt worn over a white sports bra, and black trousers.

Nina Blussj pairs a leaf-print dress with pink and blue skate shoes.

Daniella D'ainto and Naomie Carty coordinate in casual tailoring and matching rucksacks.

Autumn West dials up jeans and a T-shirt with a white blazer, gold heels and peek of fishnet tights.

A&R Taryn Gaines wears a boldly printed shirt with red trousers and braces.

Chloe Narine gives us a lesson in wearing white, putting together light-wash jeans with a snake-print crop, bucket hat and sleek white coat.

Mariette Immaculate gives us serious mermaid vibes in an iridescent jumpsuit and pearly pink robe.
