When you're in a beauty rut, it's a little like looking in your closet and seeing absolutely nothing to wear. Sure, you have the bones to create a killer look — a bold liner here, a bottle of texture spray there — but sometimes you just need a boost of inspiration. That's why we created Short Cuts, a series of quick, easy-to-follow videos meant to educate, refresh, and excite the beauty nerds in all of us. Whether you're looking to learn something new or to refresh your current routine, there's a Short Cut for you.
On the days where your workday and date night are neck-and-neck, there's simply no time for a wardrobe change. But what if one hair accessory could transform your entire look — and save you from trekking to the nearest Zara minutes before last call? Watch the video above to see the power that a lone head wrap can offer.
Day
Step 1: Wrap a rectangular-shaped scarf or piece of fabric around your head.
Step 2: Tie a tight, front-facing knot, leaving an open space at the top.
Step 3: Tuck both ends of your scarf into the opening, creating a top knot.
Night
Step 1: With that same scarf, bring both ends to the front.
Step 2: Instead of tying them, cross one over the other and bring them back behind your head.
Step 3: Cross them again, and tuck into the fabric by the nape of the neck for a headband silhouette. Add a bold lip and head out of the door!
